I have heard raves about Igor which elads me to one question--does Igor produce postscript files? That is the one reason why I use Delta Graph. email is fine Alan Hastings amhastings@ucdavis.edu

:I have heard raves about Igor which elads me to one question--does :Igor produce postscript files? That is the one reason why I use :Delta Graph. The WaveMetrics people obviously put a great deal of effort into thier demo distribution ( I got it from d31rz0.stanford.edu ) What is conspicuously omitted is any means of evaluating the export options and quality. It would be nice if they could include a few examples of output, in whatever formats are supported. Postscript, EPSF, MacDraw II, etc. (the demo documentation includes lots of nice screen dumps :-) -- -george george@mech.seas.upenn.edu

Although at this time Igor does not produce EPS files, it does generate very good PICT files and exports high quality PICTs to the clipboard. I have done an experiment where I 1) printed a graphs directly from Igor to a LaserWriter, 2) copied the same graph from Igor (using their "laser" option) to the clipboard and then pasted into Nisus, 3) and had Igor create a PICT file which was imported into Quark Express. The results were excellent! There was very little perceptible difference in the three methods, and no difference that I could see between methods 1 and 3. -- _____________________________________________________________________________ Brad Hedstrom Electical and Computer Engineering Department University of Victoria Victoria, British Columbia, Canada UUCP: ...!{uw-beaver,ubc-vision}!uvicctr!hedstrom ``I don't think so.''
