Hello net land- Over the past couple of months I've been playing around with the GIF viewers on our campus VAXen and I've been having a lot of fun with them. I've even found some really nice fun GIFs. Problem is, I own a Mac. I'd appreciate some info on current Mac compatible GIF viewers. We have a copy of the shareware QuickGIF viewer, but it doesn't seem to like any of the files I try to upload to the campus Macs. Since I have an SE (no color) I can't use it myself. I don't plan on buying another Mac after I graduate (when I get rid of the SE), but I'd like to take some of these GIFs with me. Business contacts tell me I can expect to have a powerful IBM or Mac on my desk at work, so I figure I might get a chance to use this stuff anyway. Does anyone have a favorite GIF viewer they'd recommend? Shareware/Public Domain would be preferable, though commerical software's not out of the question. Thanks. Sunil

I have a utility called GIF Converter which can view and save just about every format imaginable. It's shareware, $40. It can do some image manipulation (tone, contrast, backrgound colors, etc), and is very easy to use. I got it from a friend, but I imagine the usual user groups have it as well. --Andrew Laurence eaeu137@orion.oac.uci.edu
