I just got done making the jump from 6.0.5 to 6.0.7 last night, and installed TrueType to boot (I know, I know, BEGGING for trouble!)... here's a few things I noticed immediately. 1) I called my wife in to show what "TrueType" is all about... started up Quark 3.0, typed in some 19.2 pt Helvetica, and scaled up to 400%. No problems. Highlighted the text, changed to Times. Still no worries. Changed to Courier, and the text SHRUNK! Quark drew the TrueType Courier like it was at 100%, not 400%! (Bug #1) 2) I loaded up another Quark file, this one in Helvetica. I used Small Caps in the file, but they came out now as full sized caps (which made them run into tabbed items and all kinds of screen messes). (Bug #2) 3) I gave up on Quark, and started up Hypercard 2.0... with a Helvetica stack. The type heights (at least the 18 pt ones) in the stack were all changed (larger) so my text disappeared out the bottom of the stack. (Bug #3) Details: (for all still here... :-) Mac II ci, 8 MB RAM, System 6.0.7 and TrueType collected from apple.com Installed all of 6.0.7, and all the TrueType stuff (new printed drivers, the works). I was just disappointed, 'cause I looked at ATM on a friend's machine, and he didn't seem to notice it running (except that type looked nicer). Is TrueType just buggy still, or could I have done something stupid that I don't know about? Hank Driskill Grad Student from Hell (in 3D)

From my experiences, QuarkXPress chokes on TrueType a lot. Steve Klingsporn
