I am having difficulties with printing. I am using: TeXtures 1.2, SuperLaserSpool 2.0, System 6.0.5 Finder 6.1.5 DeskWriter driver 2.1 Things seem OK when SLS is turned off. When it's on, the bitmapped fonts seem to be lost, and only some sort of primative font is printed. I understand that SLS 2.02 has had this problem corrected (my source was HP, when I ordered the version 2.1 of the DeskWriter driver). Is this indeed the case? Will Supermac provide a free upgrade? A replacement? If it's an upgrade, does it come with instructions? Do I have do buy it? If so,for how much? Does Supermac have an 800 number? I also have a TeXtures problem. At least I think it may relate to TeXtures. When I print on a LaserWriter IINTX, I find that there exists an unusual class of character, for example, the right parenthesis {"("}. Sometimes they will appear on the screen and they will also print. Sometimes they will not appear on the screen, yet they will print. Most frequently, they will not appear, and they will not print. This last always seems to be the case when printing on the DeskWriter. These variations appear from place to place in the thesis, but do not vary with each printing. I suppose that there are more fonts residing on the IINTX, and it is a PostScript device, so maybe that figures in, but this does not explain the absence of these symbols on the screen. I never seem to have this problem when I do TeX on our VAXen, with this or any other document. Is there a solution? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please respond by email. No point cluttering the net for this. If there are intersting solutions, I will post a summary. Thank you. Mark Frautschi

Mark, Please note that neither SuperSpool or SuperLaserSpool are SuperMac products, as these were sold to Fifth Generation Systems last years. For upgrade info, you can call FGS Sales at 1-800-873-4384. For FGS Tech Support, you can call 1-800-766-7283. Also note that SLS 2.02 is required for use with the HP DeskWriter.
