There must surely be a way to get Freedom of the Press to generate PICT files or 300dpi resolution bitmaps because it does this internally when it translates postscript. Anybody know how? One way is to take the output for a printer and extract the bitmap from that. Too complicated. Another is to use a quickdraw driver to generate the PICT file. I tried Print2PICT but that didn't work. FOP could not initialize it. Preview 2.0 does not work either - same problem. Both of these drivers want me to specify which port to use. I don't use any port since I don't have a printer attached.
