I am looking for data entry/verification software for use on a Macintosh. I
have used similar systems for years on the MS-DOS and mainframe world. (Even
ones I developed years ago in Commodore 8032/SuperPET environments.)
The system must allow for the definition of >2000 fields (or variables) per
record. It should allow for blind verification to be punched at a later
date/time. The export capabilities should be such that it will not be a
problem to kermit over to our VAX for further SAS processing. Record search
and editing capabilities would be necessary, and audit reports would be
helpful.
Idealy, we would want to enter and verify data on the Mac, then upload the
verified batches of data to our VAX.
We deal in large quantities of medical research data which is analyzed on our
MicroVAX II using SAS software. Being primarily a microcomputer oriented
person I have never been satisfied with the entry/edit/verification systems
available on larger systems. (Read that as they are a PAIN in the neck!)
If anyone out there knows of existing software that would allow us to perform
these function, I would appreciate E-Mail directing me to the appropriate
vendors.
