I have a user who is running SUM II 2.0, and using the SUM Partition DA/INIT for a protected partition on their system. The machine is a IIcx with System 6.0.5 and MultiFinder 6.1.5. Few INITs are in use: AT Driver (for PacerLink 5.0a) FastBack AutoStart 2.5 Responder 1.1.1 DeskPicture 1.0 (from ScreenGems set) Public Folder 1.0.1 SUM Partition (of course) MS Mail 2.0 This morning upon starting up the machine and attempting to access the SUM Partition, the following error was received (after enter the password): "HDP control error has occured" The dialog box had an "OK" button in it, which could not be clicked. The machine proceeded to beep constantly, and had to be rebooted to gain control. The user had MacWrite II (1.0v1) set up as a startup application, and had opened the SUM Partition DA within MacWrite. I disabled MacWrite as a startup app and rebooted again. Accessing the SUM Parition DA from the Finder and entering the password, I got the error "HDP Mount Error Bad Master Directory Block" Trying again would either yield a system beep, or the dialog: "HDP Control Error Error: " And most times a system crash with an ID=10 error would follow shortly after closing the Partition DA. * None of these error messages are in the documentation. Has anyone seen this before? I'll be calling Symantec as soon as they are open; if I can get a speedier response here, that will be great. Thanks in advance, and please Email. Paul -- | Paul E.
