[comp.sys.mac.apps] Terminal emulator info wanted

sloan@uicbert.eecs.uic.edu (Bob Sloan) (05/14/91)

I want to use my Mac at home (II Si with 13" color monitor) to
phone up the Sun at the office over 2400 baud lines. Most of what I
will be doing is editing with emacs. I've tried Zterm, but found it
unsatisfactory because it botches scrolling in emacs. (I gather it
has a bug with scrolling, or maybe only with reverse video scrolling.)

I don't mind paying a few bucks for commercial software; what
I really want is something that will work happily at 2400 baud, and
provide 12 point font. (I find 9 point too small.) Suggestions?
Advice?

Two suggestions I've gotten so far are White Knight and
Versaterm Pro, but neither recommender had actually used the program
to do emacs editing at 2400 baud.

Our machine that gets news is up and down right now, so if you
could reply to sloan@ss1.eecs.uic.edu it would guarantee that I'll see
your response.
