Hi,
I need to get a Hebrew word processor for the Mac. MacWrite (the original
pre-claris version) has all the functions I need. Is it available in Hebrew?
If it is, can I get it in the U.S?
Are there any other word processors that will work in Hebrew on the Mac?
Also, where does one get a Hebrew Keyboard?
Thanks for your help,
Geoff
P.s. The Hebrew System is available on cd-rom (along with every other system,
hypercard, and lots of other stuff) for $10. from Apple.

Hebrew screen and postscript fonts. Does the stuff from Apple include word processing from right to left? Let me know if you find a Hebrew keyboard; I want one too. P.S. There is a hebrew font on sumex (and lth.se for Europeans) called shalom. It contains 18 and 24 point bitmaps and *Type 3* Postscript font. If someone could convert this to Type 1, I would be very happy. -- Kees Huizing - Eindhoven Univ of Techn - Dept Math & Comp Sc - The Netherlands e-mail: wsinkees@win.tue.nl Phone: +31-40-474120 Fax: +31-40-436685

Or better yet, convert it to truetype! Jason D. Blue - Technical Support, The MITRE Corporation, McLean, VA.

A Type 1 version is being prepared and should be ready in a week or two. Several of the letterforms have been improved and I am planning some special support for Yiddish as well. jonathan brecher brecher@husc9.harvard.edu

Somewhere in the beginning of this thread someone asked for information about Hebrew word processors for the Mac. I keep meaning to bring in the details, but haven't remembered yet. There are two solutions I know about: MacInHebrew - a DA/CDEV written by someone associated with the MIT Hillel. It lets you use hebrew fonts in other word processors, such as MacWrite or WriteNow. Davka - A company who sells hebrew-related products for both the Mac and the PC (and maybe Amigas, I forget). Among other goodies, they have word processors that can handle both Aramaic (eg: Hebrew) and Roman (eg: English) languages. - - - - - - - - Garance Alistair Drosehn = gad@rpi.edu or gad@eclipse.its.rpi.edu Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Troy NY USA
