I am no longer able to change the type of file under file save. The drop-down command button doesn't work, though the program does make a disk access when you click the button. Certain other drop-down command buttons fail, while some others work. I have't made a list. This effect occurs when no extensions are installed. The machine is a Plus with 2.5 megs. Has anyone else had the problem. It seems strange that FileMaker Pro, a Claris product, is listed by the Compatibility Checker as of unknown compatibility. Haven't yet installed 7.0 so I don't know if I'll run into the same problem that you have, but I have recently been in contact with Claris Tech. Support and I believe that your problem may be the version of FileMaker Pro that you are using. If you do not have FileMaker Pro 1.0v2 then you should contact Claris, because you are not using the actual 7.0 compatible version of the program. >It seems strange that FileMaker Pro, a Claris product, is listed by the >Compatibility Checker as of unknown compatibility. Are we to believe >that the right hand no longer knows what the left hand is doing? No, I don't believe this is the case here. I'm pretty sure that if its a problem with the app, then you probably need v2. Claris has its full line updated to either 7.0-savvy or at least 7.0-comaptible. I recommend calling Claris if you can get through to them they are fairly helpful on technical matters. -I have no connection to Claris other than that of a satisfied customer- (Can't wait to see Resolve!) -- -Hades Hustler Emeritus, Alpha Theta Co-ed Fraternity hades@Eleazar.Dartmouth.Edu -You know the economy's going to hell when drug dealers buy fuel efficient cars

I suspect the reason is that Australia (and Canada) get different versions of these programs that have a 'B' in the version number. That is: MacDraw 1.1Bv2 and FileMaker Pro 1.0Bv1. The compatability checker is parochial enough to not know about these, and hance says 'not avail.' The B, I suspect, stands for 'British' (dictionary). The Claris main dictionary is version 1.03B. I have not yet tried the 'Australian' compatability checker. Talk to Apple Canada. BTW Apple Australia sells system 7 for $185 but provides no support. Thanks mates. Resellers are discounting it to $99 and then charging extra for support. We get it in another month or so. This sounds like a problem which was fixed in version 1.0v2 of FileMaker Pro. >It seems strange that FileMaker Pro, a Claris product, is listed by the >Compatibility Checker as of unknown compatibility. My report from the Compatibility Checker version 1.0 lists FM Pro 1.0v1 as mostly compatible, and FM Pro 1.0v2 as compatible. Version 1.0v2 is available as a free upgrade, and was mailed to all registered users. You can get your free upgrade by calling Claris Customer Relations at 408-727-8227. Another flaming incompatibility with Sys 7.0 is FreeHand 2.03! Upon running the app, when entering or editing a text object, the menu remains permanently disab- led, thus DISabling my ability to change font/style on a text object. The only workaround seems to be hitting the "cmd-t" option. This should hopefully be fixed in FreeHand 3.0. -greg
