"Does anybody on the net knows about a program for the Mac that can read two "text file, compare them and indicate the difference??? There is a program called Docu-Comp. I've seen it advertised in software ads, but just now couldn't find it in the index of any MacWarehouse catalog. At one time Microsoft offered a version that worked with Word (for only $10). It had a problem when it was comparing a Word 3 file with a Word 4 file and the newer file had the new table format. It's not shareware and it costs considerably more than that $10 initially available. Try any software house. I bet they'll be able to quote a price. Shirley Kehr

[stuff about commersial solution deleted] There's also a program called "Compare". I *think* I got it from Sumex, but I'm not sure. There are a couple compare utilities at sumex, here's where to go: sumex-aim.stanford.edu cd info-mac/util ls compare* wuarchive.wustl.edu cd mirrors/info-mac/util ls compare* NB: You can login as anonymous or ftp, for your password at wuarchive, use -@- -- Brian Aslakson brian@cs.umn.edu (mail) aslakson@cs.umn.edu (talk) mac-admin@cs.umn.edu (Me!!)
