[comp.sys.mac.apps] Claris MacWrite/Draw Pro and Resolve...How Good?

mjohnson@cosmos.acs.calpoly.edu (Mark S. Johnson) (05/28/91)

There's been some recent "it's-time-to-dump-Microsoft" discussion in
this group and while I'm actually happy with Word (except for its lack
of EPS support) I guess I'm in the same boat. System 7 provides the
natural incentive to re-think my choice in software.

(Side note: I'm still using Excel 1.04 because of the high upgrade
costs for marginal improvements! System 7 breaks the poor
thing...sniff.)

QUESTION: Are there any rumors about MacWrite Pro, MacDraw Pro and
Resolve and how they will work together? It looks like they will all
become official products at about the same time, so it seems that they
could really be done "right." They may even be Way Cool.

Comments?

Just curious, but what support are you looking for in Word for EPS? You
can paste in EPS, it displays it if there's an attached bitmap, and it
prints fine.

The comment I heard was that "you won't be able to tell which application
you're running unless you pull down the Apple menu." This would, in fact,
be Way Cool.
