Does anyone have any suggestions or cures for the following problem with Excel ? I am using Excel 2.2 on a SE w/ a 20MB external drive. I am not sure whether this is a relevant issue, but I recently added memory to my machine to bring the total to 2.5 MB. Every application behaves normally and the SE recognizes the extra memory upgrade. Every application except Excel that is. No virus is on the disk according to a variety of virus protection software. When I try to pull down the menus in Excel, the menus do not appear and sometimes the entire screen is blanked out. Also, this operation appears to hang up the machine for a few seconds after I release the mouse button, but then I see the spreadsheet as normal. All the command keys work (that is how I must quit the program), but all the pull-down menus are useless. All of my more MAC-astute friends all say: "Gee, that is really wierd," but have no suggestions. I have reloaded the original copy of the program, installed new system software (6.0.7), and launched Excel from the original disk, all with the same result. Before try reformatting my disk does anyone have any suggestions ? Thanks. --------------------------------- Martin S. High MSH@PSUVM.PSU.EDU
