I have had good success with Stuffit 1.5.1 until this problem surfaced: There are several hypercard stacks to the series "The Vertebrate World." I ftp'd several from sumex.aim to my mainframe and downloaded to my Mac LC without problem. Using Stuffit 1.5.1 I "debinhexed" each of the files which then became .sit files with names such as: THE VERTEBRATE WORLD6.SIT When I attempted to OPEN the archive for each/any of these .sit files, I was surprised to find that there names DID NOT appear on the menu of .sit files. When I open my "FILE CONVERSION" folder, I DO find the files there, along with other .sit files. BUT THE OPEN ARCHIVE COMMAND NEVER FINDS THESE "VERTEBRATE WORLD" .SIT FILES! The other .sit files from the "FILE CONVERSION" folder are there, but not a sign of any "VERTEBRATE WORLD" .sit files. I thought that the LENGTH of this file name might be important, so I truncated the name to VERTFISH.SIT, ETC. Still no sign of these files in the OPEN ARCHIVE menu listing. To say the least, I'm perplexed. Any one have an idea what the problem might be? -- Ken Buelow University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee The Graduate School Internet: buelow@csd4.csd.uwm.edu
