I have recently received both the Pagemaker 4.01 and Illustrator 3.01 updates. The upgrade from Illustrator 88 to v. 3 resulted in Pagemaker 4.0 not printing at all. The file would go to the printer (eventually) and nothing would appear (longest wait before restarting the printer was 30 minutes for a simple PS image). The Pagemaker 4.01 information states that this upgrade would solve the previous problem with Illustrator 3 artwork. Good news, right? Simultaneously (well, within a few days) the Illustrator 3.01 arrived. Both are installed but the old problem persists. I have saved the Illustrator files as Illustrator 88 files and simple images will now work but images containing text die. I can print the Pagemaker page (without Illustrator art) to a Postscript file, place it in Illustrator and it will print fine. If I place the Illustrator art in the same Pagemaker page and do the same process, Illustrator will not print it either. I'm running 6.0.5 on a MacIIcx with 4 mb ram and printing to a LW+. Calls to Aldus Tech Line have resulted in high phone bills and sore ears, but nothing but recordings and "music?"
