(Previous posting canceled, this copy has a minor correction). Using PhoneNet Liaison version 3.0.1 and Retrospect Remote version 1.2, yesterday I started to shut down one Mac on the network. Restospect put up a dialog asking for "Shutdown" or "Restart", reminding me that I intended to backup the system. So I chose "Restart". Then Liaison reminded me that I had a router running, and offered "Shutdown" or "Continue Routing". I told Liaison to continue routing. The screen stayed mostly black, but playing around a little, e.g. exiting an application, brought it back. So I started the network backup and went home. The next day, I found that the machine I started to shut down did not get backed up. It seems that I should have told Liaison to shut down, because the Retrospect Remote init had already shut itself down, and would not come back until I restarted the machine.
