[comp.sys.mac.apps] Excel & Mac LC

pq@fct.unl.pt (Paulo Quaresma) (06/06/91)

I can't run Excel in my Mac LC due to the absence of numerical
coprocessor.

Is there a way to work it out?

Thanks in advance,

Paulo

Right after double clicking on the Excel icon, there is a key sequence that
needs to be held down. I can't remember exactly what this one is but try:
Command-Option-Shift, Command-Option-Shift-Control, or
Command-Option-Shift-Control. If you can't figure it out, let me know, and
I'll get you more details.

You can also use Software fpu 2.01a available from comp.binaries.mac

If you are running Excel 2.2 you can also solve the problem by getting the
free maintenance upgrade to version 2.2a from Microsoft.

You could also upgrade to version 2.2a, which I find runs quite OK on my LC,
without the need for FPU 2.01a.

The last choise is to install excel from "clean" disks. That solved the same
problem we had on IIsi machines without a coprocessor.

I'll hope it will work in your case too.
