I have a weird problem with Excel on both of our MacIIs. That is, at times it will take forever (5-15 seconds) for the menus to pull down and another 5-10 seconds for the items to be filled in. Sometimes this goes away by quitting and reinvoking Excel with another worksheet, but not always. Sometimes rebooting the system helps --- but not always. I have also tried reinstalling Excel, upgrading (from 2.2a to 3.0), reinstalling the system (both 6.0.5 and 7.0) and a number of other things. This does not seem to happen on our other Macs (SE's, CI's, LC's) only the Mac IIs. By the way, other functions in Excel are not affected. E.g. I get normal reactions to command-S and other keyed items in the menus and calculations seem to work at normal speed. This is driving me (and my secretary) crazy. Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on?
