does anyone have a ht driver which correctly handles
errors when using the block device. the driver in our
4.1 system (labeled 4.18 in comments) as well as the
4.2 distribution copy (labeled 4.20 in comments) gets
greatly confused following some sort of media (?) related
error and does not recover/retry properly. comments in
the driver and documentation indicate that this should
come as no great surprise. the raw device seems to not
have this problem, however, i have some applications which
i would prefer not to write specifically for tape drives.
