I have received several messages requesting that I change over to the .ZIP format which is a 'standard' in the PC world. The common argument against this is that Unix does not have a decent version of PKZIP available to the general public, whereas ZOO archivers are very common. However, it does seem to be a reasonable request to switch over to the PKZIP archiver as the 'standard' for comp.binaries.os2, since the programs are meant to be run on OS/2 machines and not Unix machines. So, unless there is some valid reason as to why .ZOO should remain the 'standard' archive format for comp.binaries.os2, we will be switching over to the .ZIP format as soon as we can. Mike Kretzer
