Here is an announcment of a new chair in computer science at Chalmers University. If you want to apply, you had better hurry! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The department of Computer Sciences, shared between Chalmers University of Technology and University of G\"oteborg, is a centre of several research groups financed by STU (Swedish Board of Technical Development), ESPRIT, and Chalmers' own funds. Some of the specialities are programming logics, implementation of functional languages, parallelism, and distributed systems. The investment in information technology gives the section of Mathematics and Computer Sciences the opportunity to announce a second chair as *** PROFESSOR IN COMPUTER SCIENCE *** For this chair the following descriptions has been decided: Central for the subject is, from a theroretical as well as practical point of view, to analyse and develope such languages, methods, and programs, which aim at making programming and the use of computers simpler, more efficient, and more reliable.
