The Allies further reinforce their position around Narvik, landing
French Legionnaires and Polish troops at Harstad and Tromso. With
the action in southern Norway reduced to mopping-up actions, German
troops begin to drive north from Trondheim toward Mosjoen.

By Hitler's orders, the invasion of France and the Low Countries is
again delayed, until 8 May.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Koht arrives in London to consult with
British ministers on the future of Norway.

The Italian press claims that Germany's sweep through Norway proves
the invincibility of the Wehrmacht, and predicts an eventual invasion of
Britain, claiming that Germany has the technical means necessary.

neither are we going to be trapped into such dispersal of our forces as
would leave us dangerously weak at a vital center." - Neville Chamberlain
