Sunday, 5 May, 1940 The Allies further reinforce their position around Narvik, landing French Legionnaires and Polish troops at Harstad and Tromso. With the action in southern Norway reduced to mopping-up actions, German troops begin to drive north from Trondheim toward Mosjoen. By Hitler's orders, the invasion of France and the Low Countries is again delayed, until 8 May. Norwegian Foreign Minister Koht arrives in London to consult with British ministers on the future of Norway.
