Germany releases a "White Book" revealing alleged Allied plans to
invade the Low Countries, forestalled by Germany's attack.

The government of France relocates from Bordeaux to Vichy.

Six thousand Polish troops leave Syria for British-held Palestine, to
join with British forces there and avoid surrendering with the French
troops in Syria.

The US Army prepares to test the air defenses of the Panama Canal, as the
Navy installs anti-submarine nets on the Pacific side of the canal.

Japanese Foreign Minister Hachiro Arita broadcasts his view of East Asia
and the South Seas area as a group of satellite states under Japanese
influence.
