The Army's current plans call for an invasion of 25 to 40 divisions on a broad front along the southern coast of Britain, protected by the Luftwaffe and flanking belts of minefields. Japanese Prime Minister Yonai resigns, together with his cabinet, under pressure from that country's military. US Secretary of State Cordell Hull voices disapproval of Britain's agreement to close the Burma Road. The British destroyer HMS Imogen is sunk after a collision with the cruiser HMS Glasgow off Scotland.
