British press reacts to the German peace proposal with general disdain,
and German officials warn that this is Britain's last chance before the
full weight of the German armed forces is brought to bear.

German courts are established in Holland to try Netherlanders accused of
war crimes.

Goering orders the creation of Nachjagdgeschwader 1, Germany's first
specialized night fighter wing.

British Fleet Air Arm Swordfish bombers torpedo two Italian destroyers and
a freighter off Tobruk harbor.
