Yugoslavia reports that German troops occupying Rumania have also entered
Hungary and Bulgaria. Four U-boats are reportedly operating in the Black
Sea, as well. German radio announces a mobilization of the Bulgarian
Army and strengthening of that nation's Turkish and Greek borders.

President Roosevelt orders Rumanian assets in the USA frozen.

German dive-bombers attack London, damaging St. Paul's Cathedral.

The British battleship HMS Revenge bombards the docks at Cherbourg during
the night. RAF bombers also strike at numerous Channel ports.

General de Gaulle, with his Free French troops, lands in the Cameroons in
French Equatorial Africa, where he is warmly greeted.

Germany conducts a plebiscite in Luxembourg, in which 97% of the citizens
vote their opposition to the German occupation. Disappointed with the
outcome, German officials decide not to continue the experiment elsewhere.
