The Royal Air Force raids Berlin by night, as well as Milan and Turin.
Italian bombers strike at Cairo. Another group of Italian bombers sets a
new record for the longest bombing attack, flying from Dodecanese
Island via Bahrein to Eritrea; the damage they inflict on the oilfields
there is minor, however.

Four Royal Italian Navy destroyers launch an unsuccessful night attack on a
British Red Sea; one, the Francesco Nullo, is badly damaged and is forced
to beach. The stranded ship is later destroyed by Blenheim bombers.

The U-boat attack on convoy HX-79 ends, after sinking 12 of the 49 ships
in the convoy.
