Tonight's raid on London is the weakest since the beginning of the Blitz;
a shopping district takes most of the punishment.

The South African Air Force strikes at Birikau in Italian East Africa,
its fifth raid on that city.

Vice Premier Laval of France meets with Hitler and von Ribbentrop to
discuss a more permanent settlement of the French-German armistice. Some
observers believe this will result in the incorporation of France into
the Axis powers.

Britain opens negotiations the government of Ulster and Eire for
the relocation of women and children from target areas within Britain.
