Italian troops advance slowly into Greece, and are hampered,
together with their air support, by rainy weather.

The Greek government reports that British troops have landed on
Corfu and are constructing an airbase there.

Turkey expresses her wish to aid Greee, but says that material
aid is impossible at this time. It is felt that the presence of Turkish
forces should prevent Bulgaria from entering the war against Greece,
freeing Greek divisions from that border for use in the west.

The Admiralty reports the shipping losses for last week at 198,000 tons,
the highest so far in the war and higher than any period in WWI.
