As the Italian drive into Greece continues, Britain announces that it has
begun mining operations in Greek waters. Italian troops capture the
village of Breznica, considered a strategic point en route to Salonika.
Greece claims to have received 134 modern aircraft, including 45 bombers,
from the USSR.

Marshal Petain broadcasts to France, notifying the people that acceptable
terms have been reached for Franco-German collaboration.

The U-32, which two days ago sank the crippled liner Empress of India,
is sunk by the destroyers HMS Harvester and Highlander while attacking
a convoy. Meanwhile, another British DD, HMS Sturdy, is wrecked in
the Hebrides islands.

The US Army decides to petition Congress for a further $2 billion for the
purchase of an extra 20,000 bombers, including 4000 4-engined types.
