Italian troops capture the village of Breznica, considered a strategic point en route to Salonika. Greece claims to have received 134 modern aircraft, including 45 bombers, from the USSR. Marshal Petain broadcasts to France, notifying the people that acceptable terms have been reached for Franco-German collaboration. The U-32, which two days ago sank the crippled liner Empress of India, is sunk by the destroyers HMS Harvester and Highlander while attacking a convoy. Meanwhile, another British DD, HMS Sturdy, is wrecked in the Hebrides islands.
