The RAF hits Berlin with its heaviest raid of the war so far, and also
strikes at Naples. A number of bombers from Britain's forces in Egypt
are detached to aid Greece at the order of Prime Minister Churchill.

Italian troops reach the River Kalamas in Greece's Epirus district near
the Adriatic coast. The Italian air force bombs Salonika, as well
as Corfu, Larissa, Corinth, and Candia. Italian air activity in North
Africa is also increased.

Greece responds with an air raid on the Italian headquarters at Koritsa,
Albania.

Italy and Turkey both reaffirm their nonbelligerency.

"If I were you, I would apply for a transfer to the Armored Corps
NOW... If you apply for a transfer ... say that you are an old
tanker. If you have any pull, use it for there will be 10 new
generals in this corps pretty damned soon." - Dwight D. Eisenhower,
in a letter to George S. Patton
