Sunday, 24 November, 1940

Greek troops drive even deeper into Albania, and threaten Pogradec and
Moskopolia, both important Italian defensive bases.  German press
warns Greece not to attempt to widen the conflict and cast herself
in the role of "protector of the Balkans."

Slovakia, represented by Prime Minister Vojtetch Tuka, becomes the 
newest signatory to the Tripartite Pact.  

The Luftwaffe raids Bristol by night, as destroyers of the Kriegsmarine
conduct a sweep off Plymouth.  The destroyers sink several small
coasters and damage the destroyer HMS Javelin with a torpedo.

Lord Craigavon, Prime Minister of Northern Ireland since 1921 , dies
at age 69.  He is succeeded by J.M. Andrews.
