German and Rumanian troops occupy Bucharest and begin to establish
order there. The Iron Guard continues to execute its political
enemies, and fighting breaks out between the Guard and Rumanian troops.

A 300-plane night raid strikes Liverpool and leaves 164 dead, 96
wounded.

Off the Isle of Wight, Flight Leader Dundas shoots down Major
Wick, Germany's leading ace (with 56 victories). In that same
dogfight, Dundas himself is killed.

Canada increases her work week from 44 to 48 hours.

Thailand, claiming attacks by French aircraft, announces that retaliatory
air strikes will be launched against French Indo-China.
