Greek troops make further progress in Albania, advancing along the coast
toward Khimara and fighting a see-saw battle in Tepeleni.

Britain continues to prosecute the war against Italy; the RAF stages a
night raid on Naples, in which the heavy cruiser Pola is damaged.

The German ambassador to France begins to apply diplomatic pressure
on behalf of former minister Laval.  Meanwhile, Petain announces that
Laval will be replaced by former premier Pierre-Etienne Flandin,
who also favors Franco-German collaboration.

The US Government makes its 146th annual payment to the Iroquois Indian
Confederacy.  In accord with the 1794 Treaty of Canandaigua, each member of
the Confederacy receives 6 yards of calico.
