Greek forces halt their advance into Albania, in order to consolidate
gains, re-organize, and improve the supply situation.

The RAF bombs numerous invasion ports on the Channel coast; Lorient,
Cherbourg, Havre, Calais, and Bologne are all hit.

German and Italian sources claim that President Roosevelt proposes to
remove Ireland from the US-designated Neutrality Zone; this would allow
US merchantmen to carry supplies to Ireland, shortening the distance
they would have to be transported by Britain's harried merchant marine.
