near El Agheila, but no major action results.

Fueled by Chinese military reports of Japanese troops moving from
central China to coastal areas, rumors abound of possible Japanese
attacks elsewhere in the Pacific. Japanese Foreign Minister Matsuoka

region may prompt Japanese "counter-measures."
