China reports that Japanese troops have landed at several points along
the south coast and are driving inland.  Tokyo confirms the landings.

Britain cuts diplomatic ties with Bulgaria, which itself drops ties with
Poland, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Goering meets with Rumanian Premier Antonescu to discuss Rumania's part
in the upcoming attack on the USSR.

General Weygand, speaking for the Vichy Government, announces that
French possessions in Africa will be defended.
