The Luftwaffe lands a hard blow on Glasgow and Clydeside; 35,000 of
Clydeside's 47,000 inhabitants are left homeless, and 460 are killed.
A second raid hits Merseyside; the death toll there from two nights of
bombing approaches 500.

Despite the commitment of Italian reinforcements, Greek defenses near
Klisura hold firm.

Hitler directs that SS units are to assume administrative control over
areas occupied during the upcoming invasion of the USSR.
