From: military@att.att.com (Bill Thacker) Wednesday, 19 March, 1941 Germany issues an ultimatum to Yugoslavia, demanding acceptance of terms presented earlier this month within five days. The Luftwaffe masses against London, launching the heaviest bombing attack on that city since December of 1940. During its continued attack on Convoy SL-68, U-106 torpedoes the battleship HMS Malaya. The ship is seriously damaged, and retires to New York Harbor for repairs under the new Lend-Lease conditions.
