Monday 7 April, 1941

German forces reach the Metaxas line in Greece, and armored units threaten
the line's left flank.  General Papagos orders part of the defenders of the
Aliakmon Line to advance and cover this threat, dangerously weakening that
defensive position.

In Libya, Derna falls to advancing Axis troops, and a battle develops
further inland between the German 5th Panzer Regiment and the remnants of
the British 2nd Armored Division.

Gloster test-flies their new E28/39, Britain first jet aircraft.

Chiang Kai-shek decides on a new policy of cooperation with Communist
Chinese forces.
