An armistice is signed between Britain and Iraq, guaranteeing the right of
Britain to move troops through the country and promising that Iraq will not
undertake to aid the Axis.

German aircraft, ordered to attack Liverpool and Bristol, mistakenly bomb
Dublin, killing 28.

Britain announces that civilian casualties from German air attacks
totalled 11,459 killed in May, with nearly 40,000 killed since September,
1940.

Following two more British attacks on German aircraft based in Sfax, Syria,
Admiral Darlan announces that France is prepared to use force to make
Britain respect her possessions.
