RAF bombers hit an Italian transport off the coast of Tunisia. The ship
explodes, wrecking a second transport and destroying one of the attacking
bombers. In another RAF raid, oil installations in Beirut are bombed.

British Army Gurkhas occupy Mosul, Iraq. Meanwhile France declares that it
will resist any British attempt to occupy Syria or Tunisia, and Germany
promises that its forces stand ready to support this policy.

The state of New Jersey repeals the charter of the German-American Bund
Auxiliary, ordering the organization to dispose of its property there.
