[sci.econ] economic sanctions/warfare -- request for references

From: Richard Sandmeyer <agr-rss@amsaa-seer.brl.mil>

     I am enrolled in a course for which I must write a paper on the
subject of "economic sanctions". (I mean international economic
sanctions as applied by a country or group of countries against
another country -- things like embargos, boycotts, bans on
investment, and even economic warfare measures such as naval or
military blockades, etc.)

     I have found some information on the subject in the library;
however, I should appreciate any pointers that readers of these
newsgroups might have. References both to books or articles
assessing the efficacy of such measures and to works surveying
historical instances of such activities would be appreciated.

     Since this subject is only peripherally related to the main
threads of these newsgroups, please respond via e-mail -- if there is
enough interest, I shall post the results. Please route flames to
alt.flames.
