As co-chair of the SIGGRAPH '91 advanced course "Fractal Modelling in 3D Computer Graphics and Imaging", I will be presenting the material on random fractal models of nature. I have a question for all in net-land: Does anyone out there know of anyone who's implemented Lewis' "generalized stochastic subdivision", or any of his alternatives to Perlin's "noise" function? If so, I'd very much like to contact them to discuss issues of the implementation. Full credit will be given for any material gained and used in the course, of course.
