[soc.religion.eastern] Significance of "stove top" pattern in Silbey Regional Park?

bwood%janus.Berkeley.EDU@ucbvax.Berkeley.EDU (Blake Philip Wood) (06/15/91)

At the bottom of the quarry in Silbey Regional Park (just south of the
Caldecott tunnels) there is a large (50' across) pattern of rocks
that looks like the spiral of an electric stove burner. You can walk
around the spiral, folded path to get to the center, where there is a
sort of alter of some sort. For instance, yesterday there was a couple
hawk feathers, some shells, bones, colored glass, and burned incense.

Can anyone explain to me what this is, and what significance it has?
