finished previews here (Boston) on October 15, so I would expect that it opened in NYC by now. Reviews here were distinctly mixed, although some friends of mine enjoyed it; also, I haven't seen any reviews from critics who went back towards the end of the run, when the show may have been tightened. \Dramatis Personae/ include the entire Walden Puddle commune (Mike, Zonker, Joanie, Bernie? BD?? (see how much you forget when your favorite fix goes away for a year?)) along with JJ (Joanie's daughter) Uncle Duke (who makes his first appearance driving a bulldozer through a wall of the commune house) and Honey. (Rev Scott was not mentioned.) As for successful translations, L'IL ABNER (not DOGPATCH, as someone said) was a long way before YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, which did well but was mediocre (the songs were great but all the straight dialog was taken directly from strips, which meant there was \\no// continuity and no development from the strip). There was also ANNIE, which was quite successful, although I expect most of the people on this net wouldn't like it and didn't like the original.
