COMMENT Membrane IgM is made by splicing the mu CH4 domain with the
mu-membrane M1 domain, deleting the secreted tail and intervening
DNA. The amino acid sequence of M1 is identical to the mouse
sequence, and the two nucleotide sequences differ by only 7%.
This is part of a multigene region containing the J-region, switch
region, C-mu-secreted, C-mu-membrane, and C-delta genes.
