TITLE Symptom production on tobacco and tomato is determined by two distinct domains of the satellite RNA of cucumber mosaic virus (strain Y) JOURNAL J. Gen. Virol. 70, 2765-2774 (1989) STANDARD full staff_review COMMENT [FEBS Lett. 174, 38-42 (1984)] sites. These data kindly submitted in computer readable form by: Martine J. Devic The Sainsbury laboratory John Innes Institute Colney lane Norwich NR4 7 UH U.K. Phone: (0603) 52571 Telex: 975122(JIINOR G) Fax: (0603)56844 To localize the active domains of the Y satellite RNA, recombinant RNA molecules were prepared in [J. Gen. Virol. 70, 2765-2774 (1989)]. The determinant for symptom production on tabacco lies in the region between nucleotides 1 and 219. The domain for necrotic symptoms on tomato resides on the 3' half of the molecule beyond nucleotide 219. The cDNA clone was short of the full length by 6 nucleotides at the 5' end. The missing Y satellite RNA sequence was known in [FEBS Lett. 174, 38-42 (1984)]. FEATURES Location/Qualifiers misc_RNA 1..369 /note="Y satellite RNA" variation 161..161 /note="t in [J. Gen.
