Lately I have noticed a flood of European rudeness from mcvax. It seems to be directed at vortex!lauren and utcsstat!laura. I don't know about the rest of the net, but I happen to enjoy reading articles by Lauren and Laura. I can understand that overseas sights might not share MY taste in articles. (You see, I'm an indiscriminate net junkie.) Still, I think they (mcvax!jim and mcvax!piet) could either be more polite OR direct their superfluous news gripes (BOTH MEANINGS) to the 'offending' posters. "Now, You're Never Alone" Another Message In The Bottle from Robert DeBenedictis P.S. A very nasty thought: Their complaints stem from the fact that they pay MUCHO money in phone bills to recieve news. They must also pay to recieve mail. If they keep being rude let's send them 'expensive' articles. P.P.S. This issue catches me at my worst. I deplore ANY steps which would cut down on the ever-increasing flow of news. I really do like news, lots of it.

I also have noticed a flood of rudeness from mcvax, apparently directed at vortex!lauren and utcsstat!laura. I concur with Robert DeBenedictis and believe that our overseas brethren would be wise in toning down their responses. I also appreciate their position with respect to communication costs -- especially since I have spent time overseas and paid for phone calls to the U.S. But paying the piper is no excuse for rudeness. Let's all try and understand one another's points of view and we'll all come out ahead. Ted Jardine TJ (with Amazing Grace) The Piper ...uw-beaver!ssc-vax!tjj
