We would like any pointers to a good text that is intended for use in a minimally-supervised self-paced Fortran course, and that would be appropriate at the Freshman level. Ideally, the text would have the following: o An algorithmic approach to programming, emphasizing modularity, readability (style), and design. o Some degree of independence from a particular implementation of Fortran. o A slant towards engineering and scientific students. Any pointers will be much appreciated. If desired, I will summarize to the net. Flames to /dev/null, please. Bob Knight UUCP: ...!nmtvax!knight CSNET: knight@nmtvax ARPA: knight.nmt@csnet-relay
